This concept pertains to HAY Swap, a sub-brand under HAY. The overarching theme revolves around environmentally friendly homes. We chose to center our focus on a rental service, allowing users to swap out their furniture as frequently as desired, staying up-to-date with current trends while also recycling furniture and minimizing waste.

How do we encourage young adults to rent their furniture, to aid the environment?

target audience

Our research revealed that Danes tend to purchase a significant amount of furniture and home decorations, with minimal recycling. This consumption pattern contributes significantly to environmental strain, as furniture production is resource-intensive.

We found that individuals between the ages of 18 and 35 tend to replace their furniture frequently, indicating a potential market for sustainable alternatives. Furthermore, this demographic demonstrates a strong inclination towards environmental consciousness.

findings

In general, there has been a rise in the use of subscription-based services. This model offers subscribers flexibility and often proves to be more cost-effective than one-time purchases.

Additionally, subscriptions typically include the option to cancel at any time.

solution

Our proposed solution is a campaign comprised of outdoor advertisements and social media ads. The campaign begins by highlighting various facts about furniture recycling (or the lack thereof), drawing attention to the environmental impact.

Subsequently, the campaign introduces the solution to these issues, coinciding with the launch of the HAY Swap app. The goal is to offer subscribers the same satisfaction they would derive from buying new items while providing positive reinforcement by affirming their environmentally conscious actions.

The campaign begins with a series of ads that do not reveal the sender, focusing on raising awareness of the low rates of furniture recycling. Subsequently, ads featuring HAY Swap as the sender are introduced, coinciding with the launch of the app.

The third phase of the campaign involves online advertisements, including social media posts and videos.

visuals and function

Our primary aim was to maintain consistency with HAY's clean and modern design aesthetic. We prioritized simplicity and ease of use for the app, while also incorporating an AR component. This feature allows users to visualize furniture in their homes before making a purchase.
